RAJASTHAN TRAVEL BLOG – YOUR COMPLETE RAJASTHAN TRAVEL GUIDE
Greetings from the “Land of Kings”.Embrace Rajasthan’s contrasts and experience Rajasthan travel.
The best places to visit in Rajasthan, the best places to stay, attractions and activities, as well as mindful and ethical travel, are all covered in this guide to traveling in Rajasthan.
When is the Best Time to Visit Rajasthan?
Rajasthan is best visited in winter, between October – March, with the busiest months being December, January, and (sometimes) February. The weather in Rajasthan during this time is pleasant – it’s warm during the day, but it can get cold at night.
You can also visit Rajasthan during the monsoon season (mid-June – September). Because Rajasthan is mostly a desert, it receives much less rain than other states in India, the crowds are fewer, and the prices are lower. There are often overcast and humid days (or even hot days), so if you want clear blue skies, winter is best.
It’s best to stay away from the sun in April and May as temperatures can reach over 50 degrees centigrade.
The Best Places to Visit in Rajasthan
The best-known and loved Rajasthani destinations include Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Jaisalmer. These destinations shouldn’t be missed when planning a Rajasthan itinerary.
However, Rajasthan offers so much more than these colorful cities. Bikaner and Bundi are worth a visit for their history and old towns, Pushkar is a must for the spiritually curious, and Bharatpur offers wildlife viewing.
The following are some essentials you should pack for Rajasthan.
Sunblock: The sun is still strong in winter, so a sun hat or scarf to shield your head is a good idea.
Wear layers: Rajasthan can get really cold in winter – winter and can get to 5 degrees celsius at night! It is a good idea to bring a fleece jacket, a warm sweater, or a lightweight down coat that is small enough to fold up.
An ideal head torch or flashlight for camping and power outages!
Clothing for Women – Guys can wear whatever they want, so this is for you ladies !!
Shirts with a loose fit and sleeves – We love these ones for women. Do not use solid white because dust will spoil it easily – patterns hide dirt better! It is fine to wear cotton or linen shirts/t-shirts.
Two to three light scarves – useful for draping over your head/chest – go wild with the colors!
It’s a good idea not to take too many since you’ll probably buy some!
Pants for women made of linen or cotton that fit loosely.
During your travels & walking around cities, you’ll likely want to protect your feet, so close-toed slip-on/off shoes are ideal, and flip-flops are great for chilling.
